Target

Though the majority of  images on my blog are edits from jobs, I've never been keen on posting final tears here. Although I am proud of every job I get the pleasure and honor to be a part of, there are several reasons why I don't post tears. But it's time to make one exception. I feel okay about it since I have to give so much of the credit to the amazing art director who put it all together (Chazzy, you ROCK!). Collaborating with gifted art directors is really one of my favorite things about my job. Anyway, several months ago I photographed all this stuff for Target's new in-store materials for their pet section, but I just recently went to the store (we needed laundry detergent and window cleaner) and saw it all up for the first time. It was very cool, so I couldn't resist sharing just this once.

Squeak and The Kid

Even though it has been brutally hot here in LA, it means nice, warm evenings out on the deck. We had our cousins over for dinner outside the other night and I can never resist breaking out the camera when The Kid arrives. She showed up wearing an adorable red dress rocking a head full of messy Curly Q's – Out came the camera! While she loves all of our dogs, she especially likes to play with Squeak (I have come to realize that kids love Squeak because they see him as a toy). She tried to play hide and seek with him. She told him to go hide and then she counted to ten. He did move from the ottoman to the bench. It was hilarious.

Summer Kids

Posting the Polaroids of The Kid last week made me realize that I hardly ever post my kid/baby/lifestyle work on my blog. The dogs seem to rule my blog!  I know Summer does not officially start until June 20th, but I am already in total summer mode – So here are some kids of Summer!

Memorial Day with The Kid and a Polaroid 600SE

As someone who used to spend every single day in a darkroom with a true love for the smell of fixer, it took me a VERY long time to transition to digital, and I love it, I REALLY love it. It's great for collaboration with art directors, clients get to see final results as I'm shooting, I don't have to wait 24 hours to see proof sheets, no more getting scans made of every single shot I like, and the list goes on and on and on. I had left film behind, and I never thought I would look back.... Until this past Memorial Day. My Cousin Elon (a fellow photographer who I know has been secretly skeptical of my new found commitment to digital) put a Polaroid 600SE in my hand as soon as I walked in his door and offered up as much Polaroid as I'd like to shoot one of my favorite subjects (Elon and Bryn's two year old kid, aka my little cousin). As soon as I ripped open that first Polaroid, it all came rushing back. I love digital, but I do still love film and Polaroid too. Thanks Elon!

"Monkey... Will you marry me?"

I knew Shayne was responsible for Matt's new hairdo!

The Bachelor

I think Marshana should have her own show. Other than that, I didn't think the women told all. I don't know why they give it that title, half of them don't even speak.

Anyway Nitty (I think you are the only one who reads my Bachelor post), so I am asking you (and anyone else out there who reads this): Who got Matt to shave his head? Chelsea or Shayne?

The Bachelor

Last night, "the luckiest guy" (in Bachelor history) goes to Barbados for his overnight dates. The first date was with Shayne, Matt's "litt'l monkey." The Monkey confessed she is falling in love with Matt and while I had been warming up to The Monkey myself, last night felt fake to me (maybe because I could see her hair extensions). However, when they kissed, I did see tongue and not just upper lip, so who knows!

Meepers was up next and Matt "can't wait to see her." Whatever Matt. I can't even wait till the end of my post to be mad at him. Matt? Why Meepers? Anyway, they conquered their fear of heights together, and I was sure The Monkey was history. Again, I was wrong. I wonder if it was because she said "like" 22 times during her heartfelt declaration to Matt. I still can't believe he sent Meepers packing – I can't get a read on this guy.

And now for Chelsea: My friend Nitty has had her picked for the ring for a while now, and he may be right. I was so jealous they were swimming with sea turtles (I love sea turtles). And, I think that the duality of their date was just fancy editing to prevent anyone from predicting too soon that he picks Chelsea (except Nitty of course, he already knows).

In closing (for the most romantic trip in Bachelor history), three overnights in Chris Harrison's Fantasy Suites; you think Matt was thinking to himself on Fantasy Suite nights 2 and 3, "Wow, this Fantasy Suite totally sucks compared to last night's."

I am excited about next week's "woman tell all". I know Robin will still be pissed off!
